Tom Tomorrow is the creator of the award-winning weekly cartoon
of social and political satire, This Modern World, which appears
regularly in approximately 120 papers across the country.
His work has been featured in the New York Times, Spin, Mother
Jones, The Nation ,US News & World Report., Esquire , The
Economist, The New Yorker, and numerous other publications.
In 1998, he won the first place Robert F. Kennedy Journalism
Award for Cartooning. He has also been awarded the Media Alliance
Meritorious Achievement Award for Excellence in Journalism,
the Society of Professional Journalists' James Madison Freedom
of Information award, and will receive the Professional Freedom
and Responsibility Award from the national Association for
Education in Journalism and Mass Communication in the summer
of 2000. He has four cartoon anthologies currently in print
(Greetings From This Modern World , Tune in Tomorrow and The
Wrath of Sparky, and Penguin Soup for the Soul, all from St.
Martin's). His fifth book, tentatively titled When Penguins
Attack, will be released in September, 2000.
