Kenneth Cole
     
 

Designer Kenneth Cole has enjoyed success at the top of the fashion world since he founded his company, Kenneth Cole Productions, in 1982. He has continually sought to raise awareness of current social issues with his provocative advertising campaigns.

Kenneth Cole has been recognized for his design and business talents as well as for his philanthropic involvement among his various achievements. The Creative Coalition honored him with their Spotlight Award in March for dedication to increasing public awareness. Amnesty International honored Kenneth with the 1998 Media Spotlight Award. He was chosen as Humanitarian of the Year by Divine Design and the CFDA presented their Award for Humanitarian Excellence to Kenneth at their annual celebration in February 1996. Kenneth was awarded the Extraordinary Voice Award by Mother's Voices for his continued efforts in AIDS awareness. He was recipient of the Council on Foundations 1996 Humanitarian Leadership Award. The year 1996 also brought Kenneth the footwear-industry honor of being selected as the Footwear News "Person of the Year". The Fashion Footwear Association of New York honored him with the Fashion Medal Honor Award at their 1997 Gala.
